Below the jump and this picture of the best flag ever-

What I, a person with no clout whatsoever, would like to see from my government moving forward:
- Nationalize failing essential industries. Namely, the automotive industry, airlines, and single-payer health insurance.
- Strong incentives for oil companies to open new refinery facilities as soon as possible, threats of windfall profit taxes for firms that refuse
- Federal laws requiring that store brand generic colas indicate if they’re imitating Coke or Pepsi
- Re-opening the Peace Corps to non-college educated individuals and their families. Failing this, expanding the Americorps program to include persons up to the age of 40.
- A new public works initiative centered around revitalizing the nation’s infrastructure
- De-militarization, including closing non-essential overseas bases and refocusing the armed forces on national defense and border contro.
- Free tri-cornered caps for all interested parties
- Banning the term “whatnot” from the airwaves
- A return of a modified fairness doctrine, adjusted for the realities of digital media
- And eventually, one day, removal of the electoral college and placing elections under the jurisdiction of the federal government
So, yeah, for all of my whining, I guess that’s about what it would take for me to be satisfied with the direction this country is taking.
Meanwhile, a lady who wants to obliterate Iran is our next Secretary of State. Of. Course.
